Free From Chronic Pain
About 4 years ago, while working at my computer, I experienced severe low back pain. This was the beginning of more than 2 years of excruciating pain in my low back and sciatic nerve, and numbness and tingling in both legs. I was seen by my doctor, 3 different chiropractors, an acupuncturist, and eventually, an orthopedic surgeon. I had 2 bulging discs in my low back and the surgeon recommended surgery. I was advised to restrict my daily activities and no longer participate in sports to avoid further damaging my back."
"The pain and numbness was so debilitating that I was not able to work on the computer for more than 10 minutes at a time. I was forced to take a temporary medical leave from my company, which strained my family financially. After doing some research online about back surgery I discoverd that surgery might actually make my pain worse! I decided against having surgery. However, my chronic pain was still there, every second of every day. I was not able to sit at all for long periods of time, and sleeping without pain meds was impossible."
